Kudos to Atlantic Coast Properties for listening to the wishes of Summer Lake residents and making the right decision!
Atlantic Coast's attorney sent a letter today (Nov. 9) to the contractor building the controversial home overlooking the upper reservoir (Lot 130) demanding the house be removed. The decision to deny the continuation of construction, after it was stopped this summer, was made by Atlantic Coast's Architectural Review Board. The ARB heard residents protests in a public hearing last week which was well attended.
The builder of the house said that since last week's meeting he has been making plans for the house's removal. The timetable is undetermined.
Atlantic Coast has the respect and trust of most residents and this incident had the potential to damage the goodwill they have earned over the past four years. It is truly good news that they recognized the errors that had been made on this project and rectified them in accordance with the wishes of Summer Lake residents.
Thank you, Jimmy & Atlantic Coast!

Rosie and I are pleased with the decision. ACP is to be congratulated for listening to those of us calling Summer Lakes home. We look forward to to the removal of this structure since it is practically in our backyard.
Congratulations are also in order for the residents of our little community for the united position that was taken as well as our willingness to attend the various meetings and listen to the other points of view. It is a pleasure to live in this beautiful area and share it with folks who behave like responsible adults.
Thanks, Bill for your efforts, too.

What a Great Day!
Thanks to all our fellow residents of Summer Lakes who attended both or at least one meeting regarding the house placed on Lot 130 in our subdivision. Many questions were asked about this house, I think the bottom line was the builder didn't play by the rules, rules that other builders who built spec homes in Summer Lakes followed and residents that had homes custom built followed.
This is a tremendous victory for us as residents and for Atlantic Coast Properties. A special thanks to Jim and Pam in the office who have politely listened to our concerns during this seemingly endless ordeal.
Summer Lakes is a unique community; hopefully we can all continue to work with Atlantic Coast Properties to make this an even better community. Let us now work with them on acheiving adequate representation on the ARB.
Thanks again,
Roger & Carol Pizio
